'Unstoppable Global Warming'
There is no such thing as settled science.

The data currently available on climate change from more than 1,000 scientific investigations has been gathered and analyzed in two recent reviews: "Heaven and Earth" by Ian Plimer and "Unstoppable Global Warming Every 1,500 years" by S. Fred Singer and Dennis T. Avery.

Both reviews reach the conclusion that over at least the last 300,000 years there have been repeated 1,500-year cycles of warming and cooling that are caused primarily by corresponding cycles in the strengthening and weakening of the sun. Greenhouse gases act as modulators and play only a minor role in climate change.

Water vapor and carbon dioxide account, respectively, for 95 percent and 3.5 percent of greenhouse gas influence. It is estimated that 3.2 percent of atmospheric carbon dioxide is man-made. Therefore, man-made carbon dioxide accounts for about 0.11 percent of the greenhouse gas effect.

During the last 10 years, the earth has cooled while atmospheric carbon dioxide has increased and the sun has become less intense.

Plimer states "If we humans, in a fit of ego, think we can change these normal planetary processes, then we need stronger medication."

Unless there remains to be discovered some compelling new fact(s) to contradict or overwhelm present data and analyses, the energy bill now before the senate will have no discernible effect on climate change regardless of the policies of other countries.

The energy bill will have deleterious economic effects. Consumer energy prices will increase, industrial production costs will increase, and jobs will be lost to countries with lower energy prices.

I encourage the reader to look at the facts. I found "Unstoppable Global Warming" easier reading.
